Portuguese at Utah Valley University

14 09 2009

The Portuguese Program here at Utah Valley University keeps growing.

Our classes go from Beginning to Advanced, including Brazilian Culture, Brazilian Literature and Business Portuguese.

You can increase your proficiency by practicing Portuguese with our Conversational Partners: international students at UVU, or Brazilian students via webcam, through the TeleTandem Project, or with one of our lab tutors in LA003G.

Because our high enrollment in Advanced classes, we’re now offering a Minor in Foreign Languages, where you combine Portuguese with another language.

Advanced speakers can also take the Celpe-Bras Proficiency Exam – we’re the only institution on the west coast to offer this exam!

New for 2010 is our Study Abroad in Brazil! We’re very excited about this new offering: we’re planning on having 10 openings available for interested students.  Start planning on it now; apply by December 18 and save $300!

I hope it works now – just let me know. But the site is http://www.uvustudyabroadtobrazil.wordpress.com – explore!

Stop by my office (LA003D) if you have more questions – we’d love to have you join our group!

I’m glad to see your lovely Portuguese Department Blog! It’s been inspiring to watch the UVU Portuguese Department grow over the past few years. My name is Elena and my company, Atlantico Books, works with UVU to get Portuguese-language materials for Portuguese students. Congratulations on your new Brazil study abroad program!
